The Building of a TIE Advanced
For Christmas 2006, my parents got me the Ultimate Collector's TIE Advanced x1 Starfighter, a detailed version of the starship used by Darth Vader in Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope. Weighing in a little over 1200 pieces, this LEGO took about 8 hours to complete. Thanks mom & dad!

The first step is to create the pilot chamber and side supports.

Next, the rear of the ship is made, not all of the detail down the spine of the craft.

Once finished, the two previous portions are connected together.

Next we make the bottom-front panels for the left...

and right sides.

They are connected to the front to the support structs.

After that, we take a break from the ship and make the base that the ship will sit on.

Then we set the portion of the ship that's constucted so far on it.

Back to ship building here's the left...

We then connect those to the front of the ship as well.

Next come the spines for the wings...

which are then connected to the sides of the ship.
