The Building of a Star Destroyer II
For Christmas 2006, I got the smaller brother of the UCS 3000+ piece set from Pop Fro. This is a 1367 piece set that also opens up to show scenes inside the Star Destroyer itself. With 1367 pieces, a little less than half it's larger brothers size, this set about 9 hours to complete. Thanks Pop Fro!

Here's the box and all the bags of pieces for the kit. They were nice enough to break this set up and number the steps of the build - as you can see on the bags.

The first step is to create all the people that come with the set.

Next comes the base of the set, here you can see Darth Vader in his hypobaric chamber.

After the base is finished, the A-Frame is constructed and attached to the base. This A-Frame looks and functions much like the one in the larger set.

Then we add some detail to the interior, more of the body and the spine that will support the tower - coming later.

Now the engines are added to the rear of the destroyer. Here you can see a close-up of the 3 main engines and 4 sublight engines and the escape pod in the background.

Once that's complete, we can start on the body panels. Here the first, the lower-left panel, is in place.

Now the second lower panel is in place.

The first top panel goes in place, the front-right panel.

Now the second front panel - completing the nose of the destroyer.

Another panel that covers the rest of the top of the destroyer.

Then finally the last body panel and the Star Destroyer base is complete.

Time to start on the tower, first we make the spine of the tower and the base that will sit on the destroyer base.

Next the tower sides and shield generators are added and the tower now takes the familiar shape.

With the tower finished, we can work on the tower base. Here's one side of the bottom.
