Rebuilding a Star Destroyer, 7 years and more updates!

Things have been so busy with our new daughter (who just turned one about a month ago), the group (Red Stick Rebellion continues to grow beyond what I could have believed!), we've moved in to a new place, work has been hectic (to say the least) and nearly every everything else is trying to keep pace. Because of all of that, it has been quite a while since updates have been done here at BastCastle.com - but no longer! BastCastle.com continues to go on and I've updated it with many of the features from the Red Stick site which will help ease updating it to keep it current.
 
The first thing of note is that the 7 year anniversary of the site came and went in November of last year (2007) - it's incredible to me to think back that long and read though the entire HoloNet newsfeed to the beginnings of the site. It never ceases to amaze me how far everything has come.
 
The next item of note is the addition of the first new Holocron in quite a while. This new Holocron covers the repairs and conclusions I gathered from having to repair my LEGO Imperial Star Destroyer set (the large 3000+ one). You can read and see all the pictures in The Rebuilding of a Star Destroyer - if any of you own this set, you may want to take look in to doing the same thing to your piece as I did to mine.
 
There are more plans in the future involving changes to the database - and more. So keep checking back here and thanks for your continued interest and support!
Celebration IV and passing 2300 items

Time flies when you're having fun! The Red Stick Rebellion continues to grow and we had a blast at Celebration IV this year. I've got most of the Celebration IV items in the database (but still not all of it even after a month!) and while entering a few Wave 2 figures I managed to find - I crossed over the 2300 recordable items mark! It's amazing what going to a huge Star Wars convention can do. Thanks everyone for continuing my Star Wars addicition and if you're a collector in Louisiana like me - be sure and Join the Rebellion at http://www.redstickrebellion.com!
New Youngling, 2200 items & more

I know it's been a long time since the HoloNet has been updated - but things have been busy! The most important thing has been the addition of a Youngling to our family! Emily was born on February 25th, 2007 and just turned a month old a few days ago. Now I have someone to turn to the dark side! Also new, is that the Red Stick Rebellion website - which was briefly a part of this site - has been splintered and is now it's own website now at http://www.redstickrebellion.com. Be sure and check that site for all kinds of things related to the collectors group. Lastly, the collection has continued to grow thanks to the Christmas update, the final few waves of the Saga collection and the release of the new 30th Anniversary collection. Today I pre-ordered the Gentle Giant The Empire Strikes Back Darth Vader Limited Edition statue which will be released around my birthday and with that, the collection now passes the 2200 recorded items mark - wow! Plus it doesn't seem to be slowing down soon with more of the 30th Anniversary all this year, Celebration IV and more! Thanks to everyone, as always, for their support - especially now with a new Youngling! Here's to the rest of a great year!
BastCastle Version 4 and 6 Years!

Just in time for the sixth anniversary of Bast Castle.com, a new version of the site has been deployed with many changes to the website. The page should now be cleaner with a much more easy to read interface. Also, a new sister-site for the Baton Rouge Star Wars Collectors Group - now the "Red Stick Rebellion". The Castle History has been updated to include new information from books that have come out recently and has new pictures care of VaderCologne (thanks for hunting them down!). A more detailed list of the new changes will come coming soon - as well as more things! So be sure and keep checking the site and sending in your ideas - thanks as always!

UPDATE: 11/10/2006
The General Features has been updated with a listing of the highlights of what changed with the lastest update to the website - plus, a new addition: the eBay Auction module to the Red Stick Rebellion home page. Check it out!

Our next meeting is this weekend, 9/2 at the Goodwood Library in Baton Rouge. Our feature presentation will focus on learning more about Vintage figure collecting! Learn what's in the Vintage lines, what to look for on figures and card backs and more. Plus we'll be discussing our possible trip to the Star Wars exhibit in Texas next year.
